SUSIN NIELSEN, a Toronto writer, began her writing career with the Degrassi franchise, writing scripts for the television shows as well as books for the series. Nielsen also played Louella Hawkins the Janitor at Degrassi Junior High.

CATHERINE DUNPHY is a National Newspaper Award winner for feature writing, and was a staff writer at The Toronto Star, Canada’s largest newspaper, for more than 25 years.

KATHRYN ELLIS is a publicist and scriptwriter whose work includes scripts for the original Degrassi Junior High television series. She lives in Toronto.

NAZNEEN SADIQ was born in Pakistan and moved to Canada in 1964. Inspired by the experiences of her own children and those of her friends, she writes to tell what it is like to be Canadian and South Asian growing up in Canada.

LORETTA CASTELLARIN has studied magazine journalism at Ryerson University. She also worked as a writer/researcher for Degrassi Junior High.

KEN ROBERTS is the former Chief Librarian of the Hamilton Public Library. His hobby is writing. Ken Roberts has taught Public Library Children’s Services at UBC, Children’s Literature at Simon Fraser University and Storytelling/Puppetry at the University of Lethbridge.
